Where listings come from
Most listings started from information on each company's own website and in public business directories. Where we matched a company to its Companies House record, its profile shows the registration details.
The directory lists 177 companies today. Companies can claim their listing to keep it up to date. We may ask for evidence before a claimed listing is published, and paying for a listing does not remove that review.
What we check
Before a listing goes live, we look on the company's own website for evidence that it carries out LEV testing or related extraction work.
We hold a listing back when we find no such evidence, when Companies House shows the company as dissolved, or when its website says it has stopped trading.
Distances are worked out from each company's address. Where a company's website says it works across the UK, its profile says so and links to the page where it does.
What we do not check
We do not test companies, inspect their work or certify them as competent or compliant. Qualifications such as BOHS P601, accreditations and services are shown as each company states them.
Ask for evidence of qualifications, insurance and similar work before you appoint anyone. The guide to choosing an LEV testing company lists the questions to ask.
We do not show star ratings or review counts. Photographs on this site are illustrative and do not show listed companies, engineers or customer sites.
How results are ordered
Results are ordered by listing tier, then by distance within each tier. A Free listing costs nothing. Listed costs £9 a month and Featured costs £19 a month.
A paid listing is not a recommendation. A quote request goes to up to three matching companies, and they reply to you directly.
Our guides
Each of our LEV testing guides lists the sources it relies on, such as HSE guidance, the COSHH Regulations and BOHS course pages, and shows when it was published. The directory figures page shows what the listed companies offer, worked out from the directory itself.
Corrections
If something on a listing or in a guide is wrong, email support@hqsoftware.app with the page address and the correction. A company can also claim its listing and update its own details.
