LEV testing directory and reports for the UK

Your privacy at LevHQ

What we collect, why we use it and who receives it when you use the directory or your account.

When you request quotes, we share your enquiry and contact details with up to three matching testers. Your quote request is not published in the directory.

Who is responsible for your information?

LevHQ is operated by HQ SOFTWARE LTD, company number 17341989. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Our registered office is 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX.

Contact support@hqsoftware.app about this notice or your personal data.

What we collect and why

Finding a tester and requesting quotes

A postcode search uses the postcode you enter to find nearby companies. A quote request includes your name, email, site postcode, number of systems and timing, and, if you give them, your company name, phone number, industry and message. We use these details to find testers, send the enquiry and provide a confirmation.

We use this information to provide the service you request. Where you act for an organisation, our legitimate interest is handling its enquiry and connecting it with testing companies. Optional fields are marked on the form. Without the other fields we cannot process the request.

Accounts, listings and reminders

We store account details, protected login credentials and the information you add to your profile or sites. Tester listings can include business contact details, service areas, logos and company-supplied qualifications. Published profiles are public.

Some directory entries begin with information from publicly available company websites and business directories. We use it in our legitimate interest of maintaining a useful business directory. Contact us to ask about a source, correct an entry or object to your personal information appearing.

We use account information to provide the account service under our contract with you. Our legitimate interest in protecting the service covers account security. If you request due-date reminders, we use your email and site dates with your consent to send them. You can withdraw that consent through the unsubscribe link in a reminder.

Billing, support and security

When paid subscriptions are available, Stripe processes payments. We retain customer and subscription references, payment status and limited payment-method details. Full card details are handled by Stripe, not stored in LevHQ.

We use support correspondence to answer your query. Technical records can include your IP address, browser details, requested pages and error information. Quote records contain a hashed IP value, browser information and the referring page. Our legitimate interests are preventing abuse, diagnosing faults and keeping records of enquiries. Billing records also support our accounting and legal obligations.

Who receives your information?

Matching testers receive the details submitted in your quote request so they can reply directly. Each tester is responsible for its own use of those details. Ask the tester about its privacy arrangements before sharing further information.

LevHQ uses hosting and infrastructure services managed through Laravel Forge, Resend for transactional email, Cloudflare R2 to keep off-site copies of our backups, postcodes.io for postcode lookup, Google Analytics for visitor statistics and Stripe for subscription payments when enabled. A postcode lookup sends the postcode, rather than your full enquiry, to the lookup service.

Our application server is in London. Supplier operations and support may involve processing outside the UK, including in the United States. Resend and Stripe describe their contractual transfer safeguards in their Resend data processing agreement and Stripe data processing agreement. You can ask us for details of the arrangements relevant to your information.

We may disclose information where required by law or to address fraud, security incidents or legal claims. We do not sell quote request contact details to unrelated advertising businesses.

Cookies, visitor statistics and maps

LevHQ uses session and security cookies to keep you signed in, protect forms and remember a submission within your session. The site also stores interface preferences, such as your chosen colour theme, in your browser. These features support the service you use.

We use Google Analytics on www.levhq.app to count visits and see which pages people use, so we can improve LevHQ. It sets cookies whose names start with _ga to tell one visit from another. Google receives the page address and title, the page you came from, basic browser and device details, and some actions such as scrolling to the end of a page, clicking a link to another site or downloading a file. Google uses your IP address to work out your rough location, such as your town, and says it then discards the address for UK visitors. We remove search details from page addresses, and we do not use Google Analytics on login or account pages, or on unsubscribe and report check pages. Google's advertising features are switched off for LevHQ.

Google provides this service to us under its data processing terms, may process the information in the United States, and keeps visit-level details for 14 months. Our legitimate interest is understanding how the site is used so we can improve it. We look at totals, not at individual visitors.

You can turn visitor statistics off for www.levhq.app in this browser with the button below.

Location pages may show an embedded OpenStreetMap map. Loading it connects your browser to the map provider, which receives technical information such as your IP address. Its privacy policy explains that processing. Stripe's checkout and billing portal have their own privacy and cookie information.

You can control cookies and browser storage in your browser settings. Blocking essential storage may prevent sign-in or form features from working.

How long we keep information

Retention depends on the record and why we hold it. We consider whether an account or listing is active, whether an enquiry remains unresolved, our need to investigate abuse or disputes, and any accounting or legal obligations.

Closing an account does not necessarily remove records needed for those purposes. Backup copies may remain until their retention period ends. Contact us to ask about a particular record or request deletion; we will explain any reason we need to retain it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask for access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate details, deletion, restriction of use or a portable copy where the relevant right applies. We may need to verify your identity. These rights are subject to legal conditions.

You can object to our use of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interests. Email support@hqsoftware.app and explain the use you object to.

You can unsubscribe from reminders at any time. Quote matching uses location, coverage and listing tier; it does not decide whether a tester must accept your work.

If you are unhappy with our handling of your information, contact us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
