We understand the HSE approach and carry out all Local Exhaust Ventilation testing thoroughly and in full accordance with the current HSE guidance. All tests are conducted by BOHS P601 engineers in full compliance with the HSE latest standards and regulations. When conducting LEV testing, as part of our service we assess all exposure risks and carry out a full inspection of your system.

What the listed services involve
LEV testing
A thorough examination and test checks the condition of your extraction system and measures airflow to assess how it controls exposure. For most LEV, this is required at least every 14 months under regulation 9 of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002.
LEV design
Design starts with the work process and the dust, fumes or vapours it produces. It involves choosing capture hoods and sizing the extraction equipment around how your staff actually use the workspace.
LEV installation
Installation involves fitting the extraction equipment and connecting it to the machines or work areas it serves. Commissioning checks its performance under working conditions and establishes measurements for comparison at later tests.
LEV repair
Repair work addresses faults such as damaged hoods, leaking connections or failed fans. Checking performance after the repair helps establish whether the system controls exposure again.
Ductwork
Ducts carry contaminated air from the capture point towards a collector or discharge point. Work on their layout, joints and condition affects airflow, access for cleaning and the build-up of material inside.
Dust extraction
Dust extraction captures particles near the machine or process that releases them and carries them to a collection unit. The material being handled and the position of the capture hood affect how well it works.
Fume extraction
Fume extraction draws airborne contaminants away from a process before they spread through the workplace. Selecting suitable capture equipment and air treatment depends on the fumes or vapours produced and how the work is done.
Workplace air monitoring
Air monitoring measures airborne substances, often by taking samples in a worker's breathing zone during normal tasks. Results help assess exposure and whether the controls in place are doing enough.
