LEV testing
A thorough examination and test checks the condition of your extraction system and measures airflow to assess how it controls exposure. For most LEV, this is required at least every 14 months under regulation 9 of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002.
Ductwork
Ducts carry contaminated air from the capture point towards a collector or discharge point. Work on their layout, joints and condition affects airflow, access for cleaning and the build-up of material inside.
Workplace air monitoring
Air monitoring measures airborne substances, often by taking samples in a worker's breathing zone during normal tasks. Results help assess exposure and whether the controls in place are doing enough.
Training
Training can help operators recognise poor extraction, position capture hoods and carry out routine checks. The content should match the equipment they use and the actions they need to take when something is wrong.
