ESP Environmental has experienced technicians qualified to the necessary BOHS P601, to perform the required tests on LEV's. There is a duty of care on the employer and it is a legal requirement to carry out regular maintenance and performance checks to ensure the extraction system is performing to the required standard to protect the operator from exposure to hazardous pollutants. Guidance on the law is set out in HSG 258
What the listed services involve
LEV testing
A thorough examination and test checks the condition of your extraction system and measures airflow to assess how it controls exposure. For most LEV, this is required at least every 14 months under regulation 9 of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002.
Workplace air monitoring
Air monitoring measures airborne substances, often by taking samples in a worker's breathing zone during normal tasks. Results help assess exposure and whether the controls in place are doing enough.
Face fit testing
A face fit test checks whether a particular make, model and size of tight-fitting respirator forms a seal on the wearer's face. It helps you select suitable respiratory protection for that individual.
